Goemkarponn desk PANAJI: Hours after Goemkarponn story of inflated water bills, the Public Works Department has said that it would rectify the bills, and the consumers need not pay the bills till then. Goemkarponn broke the story of the Rs 1.5 lakh water bill received in Ponda. Reacting to the story, the PWD Chief Engineer in a press release said that all the water supply consumers are hereby advised that incase if there is any discrepancy noted in the water supply bills issued to them by Public Works Department are requested to approach the Assistant Engineer-Water Supply with the Water Supply Bill who shall verify the bill and inform the consumer and re-issue bills wherever required which may have occurred due to technical issues. “During this period for all such cases, the consumers may not pay the water supply bill and the arrears will be adjusted in the subsequent bill to be generated,” the CE said. Further it said that all the consumers are requested to kindly take note of the same and it is also informed that no water supply connection released by the Department will be disconnected for all such cases.
