MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have registered a theft case after gold jewellery worth ₹3 lakh was allegedly stolen from a jewellery shop in the Mapusa Municipal Market.
According to the complaint filed by Motilal Shabu Lotlikar (65), a businessman from Thivim, the incident occurred on April 23, 2026, between 4:13 pm and 5:00 pm at his jewellery shop in the Municipal Market, Mapusa.
The complainant alleged that two unidentified women, along with several unidentified men, entered the shop and, acting with a common intention, allegedly stole three 22-carat hallmarked gold chains weighing a total of 32 grams. The chains were displayed on a jewellery tray kept inside the display counter.
The total value of the stolen jewellery has been estimated at ₹3 lakh.
Mapusa Police have registered a case, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Abhijit Naik.
