MARGAO: Colva Police have registered a theft case involving gold jewellery worth approximately ₹13 lakh that allegedly went missing from a hotel room at a luxury resort in Cavelossim.
According to the complaint lodged by Rajyesh Kumar Patni, a resident of New Delhi, the incident occurred on May 11, 2026, at around 11.30 am at the Radisson Blu Resort, Cavelossim.
Police said the complainant’s wife had inadvertently left behind gold ornaments weighing around 80 to 90 grams in the hotel room while checking out of the resort. The jewellery, valued at approximately ₹13 lakh, was later found missing.
Based on the complaint and subsequent inquiry, police have booked three accused persons identified as Sankar Bordoloi of Nagaon, Assam; Viresh Basarkod of Cansaulim, Mormugao, originally from Karnataka; and Parveen Ghadi of Khanapur, Belagavi.
The accused are alleged to have stolen the ornaments after they were left behind in the room, causing substantial financial loss to the complainant and his family.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Varshada Naik Dessai of Colva Police Station. Police are working to recover the stolen jewellery and establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the theft.
