TALEIGAO: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that his government is working to bring non-polluting industries.
“The Government is working to bring non-polluting industries such as IT companies to Goa; teachers should counsel students about career opportunities as they have a greater impact on career decisions compared to parents,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that the people of Goa wait for government jobs like the LDC post, and they are even ready to step back to any other post.
“People wait for govt jobs like LDC; they need to change this mindset; people need to look beyond govt jobs,” he added.
Sawnat further said that the state government has set a goal to establish an educational hub for higher education in Goa under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“In this regard, we have signed four MoUs today, which will help with placements. Also, the focus will be on rural students to teach them coding in the Konkani language,” said Sawant.
The Chief Minister said that teachers should counsel students about career opportunities as they have a greater impact on career decisions than parents.
He said that the companies who have signed the MoU with the state government will give training in the IT sector in the rural sector.
“Their talent will be pulled and will be given further training in that field. The training will be free of cost, and later they will be given placement,” CM said.
Meanwhile, Sawant said that the foundation stone for the IIT Goa project will be laid within the next six months.
“This government is for the people. We all should get united and work for the IIT. Within the next six months, we can lay the foundation stone; only locals from the area will get opportunities in non-teaching jobs,” he said.
