PANAJI: High Court of Bombay at Goa granted anticipatory bail to Salvador do Mundo panch Krishnakant Chodankar who is accused of taking bribe to the tune of Rs 18 lakh for giving construction license.
One Sunil Desai, representative of Noel Felix Ataid who is landowner of survey no. 155/5, had filed a complaint against Chodankar at the Porvorim Police Station for allegedly demanding bribe to the tune of Rs 30 lakh to clear a file for erecting a structure.
After negotiation, the bribe was recued to Rs 18 lakh and the same was paid to the accused on June 5,2023 near Salvador Do Mundo Panchayat.
Immediately on the next day i.e on June 6, the construction license was issued to the complainant.
However apprehending that he would be harassed, abused by the Pancha Member and specifically the Applicant with regard to other permissions and more specifically the occupancy certificate, the victim filed a complaint against Chodankar, states the complaint filed by the victim in this regards on Aug 21, 2023.
