NAVELIM: Navelim police have registered a theft case after unidentified persons allegedly broke into a house at Buticas and decamped with cash worth around Rs 4 lakh.
According to the complaint filed by Patrick Socorro D’silva, a resident of Navelim in Salcete, the burglary took place between 5 am on May 4 and 7 pm on May 6, 2026.
Police said the unknown accused allegedly broke open the main door of the complainant’s house and stole approximately Rs 4,00,000 in cash.
Margao Town Police have registered FIR No. 49/2026 under Sections 305 and 331(3)(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sanjay Velip of Margao Town Police Station.
