CANACONA – Stating getting a BJP ticket is the turning point; newly-elected Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar said he will accept the party’s decision as he had never demanded any posts though now elected for the fourth time.
‘This 2022 elections, I have obeyed party discipline to the core, and the most significant turning point is getting BJP ticket to contest this election, Ramesh Tawadkar the fourth time MLA.
Speaking further, Tawadkar said, Central and State Leaderships showing full faith in me had paid off and gave Canacona seat to BJP. Keeping full faith and belief in myself, during campaigning also I have never discussed the weaknesses of any of the other seven contesting candidates. My first strength is my Organization and the second one is my Karyakartas. I made 100% usage of both these strengths, which made me easy to win the 2022 election ‘.
Tawadkar stated he was obtaining feedback daily on each of the 59 booths, ‘my polled votes, as well as my winning margin, were on expected lines.
‘With my Sanghatna and Karyakartas strongly rallying behind me, I never dared to consider this election as a challenge. It was a foregone conclusion to obtain leads in all segments, except for Agonda and Loliem-Polem; I got leads in Shrishthal, Municipality, Gaondongrim, Khotigao, and Poinguinim areas’.
When asked what post he aspires in the government, Tawadkar replied, ‘ I have never asked party’ for any particular posts in my last three stints as MLA. I won’t ask this fourth time, but I strongly believe in my working capabilities as an asset to my party and the government.
