VERNA: Verna Police have registered a case against a property owner for allegedly carrying out illegal land filling activities without obtaining the necessary permissions from the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.
According to police, the case was registered under Crime No. 45/2026 under Section 17-A of the TCP Act following a complaint filed by Yatish Yothambikar, Draftsman Grade-II attached to the Office of the Town and Country Planning Department, Government of Goa, Mormugao, Vasco.
As per the complaint, the alleged violation took place on March 27, 2026, at TNK, Survey No. 14/3 of village Pale in Mormugao Taluka. The property is stated to belong to Selwyn Quelebino Sa Rebello.
Authorities alleged that the accused undertook land filling work on the property without securing prior approval or permission from the Chief Town and Country Planner for Mormugao Taluka, thereby violating provisions of the TCP Act.
Further investigation in the matter is being conducted by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar of Verna Police Station.
