Panaji: In a significant precursor to Invest Goa 2024, the Minister Mauvin Godinho conducted high-level meetings at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mumbai office.
These preliminary discussions set the tone for Invest Goa 2024, signalling a proactive approach in creating an environment conducive to international investments.
As Goa gears up to host the summit, these early initiatives demonstrate a dedicated effort to enhance global engagement and attracting foreign investments to Goa.
The Honourable Minister engaged in constructive dialogues with esteemed Consul General of Netherlands, Consul General of Finland and Consul General of UAE. These meetings laid the groundwork for strategic collaborations between Goa and these nations, underscoring the global interest in the economic potential of the state.
The discussions encompassed a wide range of topics, including trade, investment opportunities, and avenues for bilateral cooperation. The Consul Generals expressed their keen interest in exploring partnerships with Goa, acknowledging the state’s growing prominence as an investment destination.
The Honourable Minister highlighted Goa’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, emphasizing the state’s unique offerings and its potential to emerge as a hub for international investment. The Minister also met up with key industry leaders Mr. Suresh Kumar R, Managing Director, Allcargo Terminals, Dr. K Nandakumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Chemtrols Industries, Ashank Desai, Chairman, Mastek, Dhimant Bakshi, CEO, Imagicaa world Entertainment, Sumit Pandey, CEO, Hinduja Renewables, Mr. Sanjay Sethi, CEO, Chalet Hotels and Mr. Rakesh Swami, Godrej Industries.
During the deliberations, several noteworthy proposals were discussed. During the meetings, several prominent organizations have expressed interest in contributing to Goa’s economic landscape. Chemtrols Industries is actively exploring the establishment of a ‘Waste to Energy’ plant, showcasing their commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. Imagicaa World Entertainment is eager to enrich Goa’s recreational offerings, expressing interest in setting up an ‘Entertainment Park’ that promises to be a source of joy and entertainment for both locals and visitors. Hinduja Renewable Energy is aligning with Goa’s green energy goals, with plans to set up a floating solar plant and expand their existing solar unit. Chalet Hotels is proposing a bold initiative by suggesting the creation of a convention centre with a remarkable capacity of 150 rooms, aimed at further positioning Goa as a premier destination for events and conferences.
The Godrej Group is expressing its intent to contribute to Goa’s agricultural sector by setting up a Centre of Excellence (COE) focused on palm oil production, showcasing their commitment to sustainable agriculture and knowledge-sharing in the region.
The meetings explored various diverse investment opportunities emerging in Goa across multiple sectors. Invest Goa 2024 promises to be a landmark event, bringing together diverse stakeholders to shape the future of Goa’s economic landscape.
