PANAJI: In yet another political development former Goa Forward Saligao MLA today has joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanawade.
Salgaocar had tendered his resignation before the Speaker Rajesh Patnekar last night. With Salgaonkar’s exit, the Goa Forward Party now has two MLAs in the state Assembly.
“The BJP survey also gave them a clear indication about me being the winnable candidate; In my entire term I have maintained good relations with the BJP workers in Saligao. There could be resentment. I will try to resolve the differences. I will personally approach them,” Salgaonkar said after joining BJP
He further said that over the years, he had seen closely how BJP and the government are working and realised that it’s time that I need to be part of a national party.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant himself approached me to the join the BJP. I am joining
BJP to serve the people of Saligao, majority of developmental works are done in my constituency but some works are remaining: ”he added
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant speaking on the ocasion said that BJP will attain abolsute majority in the 2022 assembly elections.
“Jayesh is concerned about people and development of the constituency and he is not just concerned about him; many more people are tojoin the BJP, the doors of BJP are always open. Goa Forward always used Jayesh to say it was a Bahujan Samaj Party” said CM Sawant
Taunting, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, CM Sawant said Goa does not need Bengal like politics.
Jayesh is tipped to be the candidate of BJP in Saligao constituency in the forthcoming assembly elections
