QUEPEM: A 34-year-old man originally from Jharkhand was found dead inside his rented room in Quepem after reportedly remaining unwell for two days.
According to police, Lalit Tigga, a native of Bagesara in Jharkhand and currently residing at Amona, Quepem, was brought dead to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Quepem, by a 108 ambulance on April 29 at around 10.58 pm.
During the inquiry, police learned from the deceased’s roommate, Praveen Tirki of Gumla, Jharkhand, that Lalit had been ill for the past two days and had stayed back from work. At around 8 pm, when Praveen returned to the room after work, he allegedly found Lalit lying unconscious inside.
He was immediately shifted to PHC Quepem, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Police later conducted the unnatural death occurrence panchanama and inquest proceedings. The body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Yogesh Gaonkar of Quepem Police Station.
