PORVORIM: Today, Porvorim MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has requested the Chief Minister to form an SIT to probe land grabbing and hill cutting cases in Porvorim.
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, Salvador Do Mundo panch members, and Government officials conducted an inspection of illegal hill cutting carried out at Alto Torda behind Highland Villas.
“Lot of hill cutting and illegal land grabbing cases are coming to light in Porvorim; I request the Chief Minister to form an SIT to probe land grabbing and hill cutting cases in Porvorim,” said Khaunte
He further said that the whole area comes under private and natural forests.
“During the inspection, we found that the access way shown in the plan is different what is done I different; we have to check what permissions have been given by the TCP.
Khaunte said that some people do such things, and finally, the blame comes on the MLA.
“I will ensure that immediate action is initiated on the issue; if any legal document, the owners can come forward; otherwise, we will ask TCP to conduct an inspection,” he said.
Khaunte said that he will move a note asking CM to form SIT who will look into such matters.
