PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre Goa, has forecast light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers across North and South Goa from May 28 to June 3, 2026, while confirming that no weather warnings have been issued for the state during this period.
According to the seven-day outlook issued on Thursday at 1300 hrs IST, scattered rainfall activity is expected to continue across the state. IMD stated that overall atmospheric conditions remain stable and within normal limits, with no adverse weather alerts currently in force for Goa.
While no warnings have been issued for coastal waters near Goa and Maharashtra, the bulletin notes squally weather conditions over distant parts of the Arabian Sea, including regions off the Somalia coast, the north Arabian Sea, and the Comorin area. Wind speeds in these zones may reach 40–55 kmph, gusting up to 65 kmph. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these deep-sea regions during the advisory period.
In addition, the IMD has issued a heat-related advisory, cautioning that while general conditions remain tolerable, vulnerable groups such as the elderly, infants, and those with chronic illnesses may face moderate health risks. The department has warned of dehydration, heat cramps, and heat rash during peak afternoon hours between 11 am and 3 pm.
Residents have been advised to maintain adequate hydration, wear light cotton clothing, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and schedule strenuous outdoor activities during cooler parts of the day. Occupational safety measures have also been recommended for outdoor workers.
Overall, Goa is expected to experience a stable pre-monsoon weather phase with intermittent showers, no extreme alerts, and standard seasonal health precautions in place.
