KERI: The Excise Department has intensified its enforcement drive against the illegal transportation of liquor across the State, seizing a consignment worth approximately ₹9 lakh at the Keri Excise Check Post in Sattari Taluka.
The seizure was made during routine surveillance and vehicle checking carried out by Excise officials as part of the Department’s ongoing efforts to curb the unlawful movement of liquor and prevent revenue leakage.
The Department reiterated its commitment to maintaining strict vigilance at all check posts and other strategic locations across Goa. It said intensive inspections and enforcement drives will continue, with stringent action against those found violating the provisions of the Goa Excise laws.
The Excise Department has appealed to the public and stakeholders to comply with the law and cooperate with enforcement authorities in preventing the illegal transportation and trade of liquor.
