TUEM: Pernem Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly possessing suspected narcotic drugs at Tuem in Pernem.
According to police, the offence was registered at Pernem Police Station at around 12.25 am on April 29 based on a complaint filed by PSI Sahil S. Naik.
Police stated that on April 28 between 7.45 pm and 10.35 pm, the accused, identified as Mohammad Ali Bedgeri, resident of Dangui Colony, Duler, Mapusa, was found allegedly in possession of 326 grams of suspected ganja valued at approximately Rs 35,000.
The suspected narcotic substance, described as greenish dried leaves with flowering or fruiting tops, seeds and stalks, was allegedly concealed inside a Maruti Ertiga bearing registration number GA-04-T-5919.
The accused was taken into custody and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sahil Naik of Pernem Police Station.
