MARGAO: BJP Margao candidate Manohar (Babu) Azgaonkar blames Congress leader Digambar Kamat for the underdevelopment and suppressing people of Margao.
Azgaonkar urged people to support him this time and assured building an international standard bus stand and improving medical facilities and businesses in the Margao market if elected to power.
During his commencement of election campaign, BJP’s Babu Azgaonkar took blessings from Lord Damodar in Margao at Pimpalkatta and his supporters and kick started his campaigning on Friday morning.
Later, speaking to the media, he said Margao has remained underdeveloped for more than two decades, and people are suppressed here. What good has been done by the local MLA for the betterment of the people and for Margao? he questioned.
Taking indirect potshots without naming anyone, Azgaonkar said only two thousand envelopes are being given to people every four years by some politicians, and therefore the Margao has remained underdeveloped.
He said the small businesses from the Margao market are suffering, there is no better medical facility, the bus stand is worse than the remote village bus stand, unemployment issue is prevalent here. When Margao citizens pay taxes, why are they deprived of good facilities and development? Azgaonkar questioned.
Azgaonkar further said that people are with BJP, and he is sure that people are with him, and if he gets elected from Margao, then surely he will bring overall development of Margao, which has been deprived for past so many years. “We want Pernem and Margao seats to be won by BJP, and I am sure that people will give me an opportunity to serve them in Margao,” he stated.
Azgaonkar and his supporters later went to market and met shopkeepers and locals and urged them to support him this election.
