PONDA: Stating that the BJP has almost won a majority and that with support of Independent MLAs, it can form a stable government, the Ponda, Marcaim, Shiroda, Priol BJP Block Committee presidents jointly addressing media urged the party top leadership to keep MGP completely out of power. The blocks said they were against MGP joining to Government. The blocks said they won Ponda, Shiroda, and Priol for BJP and that BJP should keep MGP completely out of power, and those party workers would work hard even to win the Marcaim constituency in future.
They strongly opposed MGP support in the formation of the BJP.
“Even if BJP accept MGP support in Government, they strongly opposed giving them a place in Cabinet as well as any other government post,” they said.
Vishwanath Dalvi, Ponda BJP Block Chief, said already BJP got fifty per cent seat. He said there are several reasons to reject the support of Sudin Dhavlikar, who had repeatedly made statements before election results that he won’t be part of the BJP Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
“MGP also forged an alliance with TMC, which is against BJP. Now MGP is reduced to two from three after it made an alliance with TMC,” he said.
He said BJP can take MGP support, but its MLAs should not be given any post in Government.
“If MGP is given a place in Cabinet or Government corporation, it will discourage the BJP workers who worked hard for the victory of BJP,” he said.
BJP Shiroda Block Chief Suraj Naik said in 2019 by-election that when Subash Shirodkar was contesting on BJP ticket at Shiroda to strengthen Government, MGP was in alliance and was part of but despite this MGP President contested Shiroda by-election going against the interest of BJP Government.
“Also during Covid pandemic, MGP leaders opposed to converting Shiroda Hospital into Covid Hospital,” he said.

Sudesh Bhingi, who contested from Marcaim on BJP ticket, also strongly opposed the inclusion of Sudin Dhavlikar in Cabinet, stating that MGP always put BJP into trouble despite enjoying power in Government that there is no need of MGP as Independent offered their support.
Sagar Mulvi said MGP can’t be trusted as it supported Congress candidates during the last LS election.
Priol BJP Chief Dilip Naik, also Sarpanch of Bethki Khandola, strongly opposed the inclusion of MGP in the BJP government, stating that when Dhavlikar brothers were in alliance government of BJP, they gave step-motherly treatment to Priol BJP workers.
