CANACONA: Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Tuesday visited the remote Marlim area in Poinguinim to inspect a severely dilapidated mud house belonging to widow Chandrika Gaonkar.
The house, located in the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary region, was found to be in a dangerous condition with extensive internal damage, making it unsafe for habitation. Chandrika Gaonkar currently resides there with her two children and is reportedly unable to repair or rebuild the house due to financial difficulties.
After assessing the family’s situation, Tawadkar assured that a new house would be constructed through collective community efforts under the Shramdham Connect initiative. He said the effort aims to improve the family’s living conditions and ensure support reaches those in need in remote areas.
The initiative is expected to bring relief and renewed hope to the family living in difficult circumstances.
