VASCO: Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar conducted a comprehensive inspection at Baina Beach on Wednesday morning, in preparation for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The inspection was carried out in collaboration with various local authorities to ensure that all necessary arrangements were in place for the smooth conduct of the festivities.
Amonkar emphasized that a range of facilities have been arranged to accommodate the large number of devotees expected to visit the beach during the festival. Among the key preparations is the installation of illumination and serial lighting to enhance the beach’s ambience and safety during the evening hours. Additional lifeguards will be deployed to ensure the safety of visitors, while dedicated Nirmalya collection points will be established for the responsible disposal of religious offerings.
To cater to the needs of the crowd, mobile toilets will be stationed at convenient locations, and comprehensive traffic arrangements will be implemented to manage the flow of vehicles and prevent congestion in the area.
Amonkar also addressed concerns regarding sand erosion at Baina Beach, particularly from the last step leading to the beach. He has directed Gammon India, along with local residents, to monitor the situation on a daily basis, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed so that devotees are not inconvenienced during the festival.
The MLA assured that all measures are being taken to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at Baina Beach.
