SADA: A shocking murder was reported at GRB Colony in Sada on the eve of Holi, where a dispute over a bike led to a fatal attack. Mallikarjun Ghivari (45) allegedly stabbed and killed his elder brother Shrikant Ghivari (50) late at night around 10:30 PM on Thursday
Argument Over Bike Turns Deadly
According to sources, the incident occurred after Mallikarjun, who works as a security guard, took his elder brother Shrikant’s bike without permission. Shrikant, who was employed as a lifeguard, confronted his younger brother upon his return, leading to a heated argument.
Confirming the details, Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam stated, “When Mallikarjun arrived home, Shrikant questioned him about taking the bike without permission. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, the younger brother attacked his elder brother with a knife, stabbing him in the chest, abdomen, and hands. Shrikant, who was already injured, succumbed to his injuries after the attack.”
Sources revealed that at the time of the incident, the parents, wife, children of the accused, and the youngest brother, Mahesh Ghivari (40), were present in the house. It was Mahesh who immediately alerted the police.
The Mormugao police arrested Mallikarjun Ghivari on charges of murder, and a case has been registered. Further investigations are underway.
