BICHOLIM: A 42-year-old man from Nanoda died in a tragic truck-scooter accident reported at Nanoda in Bicholim on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Prashant Kerkar, a resident of Nanoda-Bicholim. According to available information, the accident occurred around 4 pm when Kerkar was travelling on his scooter. During an alleged overtaking attempt, the scooter reportedly collided with a truck, leaving him seriously injured.
Locals rushed him for medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to the hospital.
Sources said Kerkar was employed in a Gulf country and had returned to his native village only two days ago. News of his sudden death has cast a pall of gloom in Nanoda village.
