MARGAO: Margao Town Police have registered a case against a Navelim resident following allegations of repeated sexual assault and cheating on the false promise of marriage.
According to the complaint filed by a lady complainant, the accused identified as Sakib Munaf Tandoor, resident of Mandopa Road, Navelim, allegedly subjected her to forcible sexual intercourse on multiple occasions from June 2021 at locations including Mandopa, Navelim and Mumbai till 2026.
The complainant further alleged that the accused induced her to part with Rs 8 lakh on the pretext of marriage and later cheated her.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Anushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
