ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have arrested one person in connection with an assault case reported near Nagoa Circle in Bardez.
According to police, the case was registered following a complaint filed by 20-year-old Karan Gohel, a resident of Verla-Parra, Mapusa. The complainant alleged that on May 12 at around 3 pm, four accused persons — identified as Ajay Pujar, Mubarrak Nadaf, Raj and Bishnu — wrongfully restrained, abused and assaulted him and his friend near Nagoa Circle.
Police said the accused allegedly attacked the victims using fists and beer bottles, resulting in injuries to the complainant’s head and the backside of his neck.
The victim was referred for medical examination, while the medical opinion regarding the nature of injuries has been kept reserved.
Based on the complaint, Anjuna Police registered Crime No. 37/2026 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to wrongful restraint, assault and causing injuries with common intention.
Police have arrested accused Ajay Pujar, 19, originally from Gadag district in Karnataka and presently residing at a rented room in Arpora. The arrest was carried out on May 13.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Nitesh Shingadi of Anjuna Police Station.
