PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party held a post-poll review meeting with its candidates today at the International Centre. At the occasion, the newly-elected MLAs, Capt Venzy Viegas and Engr. Cruz Silva were felicitated by the party with a shawl, memento and bouquet.
“The entry of AAP in the Legislative Assembly of Goa is a momentous occasion. Through our two MLAs, the common man of Goa will now find a voice in the Assembly in a way that has never happened in the recent history of Goa. Through honest politics, Capt. Venzy and Engr Cruz will demonstrate what every elected MLA can do and should do, whether they are in power or not”, State Convenor Rahul Mhambre stated.
Capt. Viegas, speaking after his felicitation, assured to work hard so that AAP’s performance speaks for itself. Engr. Silva said that the two MLAs would take up issues in their own constituencies and across Goa. Ex-Ministers Shri Mahadev Naik and Mrs Alina Saldanha also spoke on occasion and assured all support and guidance to the new MLAs.
Various candidates and party leaders also expressed their views, analyzing the performance in various constituencies, and offered suggestions for improvement in the future.
The meeting resolved to work harder to win the trust of the people of Goa, with an immediate focus on strengthening the ground organization of the party to enable continuous contact with people.
