MOPA: A 22-year-old airline passenger has been booked by police for allegedly opening the safety cover of an emergency exit door during a Delhi-Goa flight, thereby endangering the lives of passengers and crew members on board.
According to a complaint filed by Mr. N. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Manager (Security) of Manohar International Airport, the incident occurred on April 27 aboard Indigo Airlines flight 6E-2271 travelling from Delhi to Goa.
Police said the accused, identified as Sidhant Herle, a resident of Inam Dhamni, Miraj in Sangli district of Maharashtra, was seated on Seat No. 18A when he allegedly opened the safety cover of the emergency exit door while the aircraft was mid-air.
Following the complaint, an offence was registered at 12.31 am on April 28. Police stated that the act allegedly endangered the safety and lives of fellow passengers and crew members on the flight.
