PONDA: In the meeting of the Ponda Municipal Council important resolution was passed for the reconstruction of the Palika Bazaar, comprising of fish Market and other shops located near Ponda Market Complex.
Similarly, PMC decided to upgrade and repair Indira Market located at Old Bus Stand.
It was also decided to repair the PMC crematorium at Varkahandem Ponda.
Chairperson Ritesh Naik, Vice President Archana Dangi and other councillors beside Ponda MLA and Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik were present at this meeting.
A new complex will be constructed in place of the project fish market and other shops in the Ponda market complex.
Fishsellers and chicken and mutton sellers will be provided space, and clothing and other material shops will be provided on the upper floor.
Up-to-date facilities will be provided in this project.
It will also have the necessary facilities for customers. The plan for this project has been prepared, and the information was given in the meeting. Chairperson Ritesh Naik approved the resolution of this work in the meeting.
The Indira Market complex in Ponda’s old bus stand will also be renovated, and this work will be done on the PPP principle of BOOT basis.
Apart from this, the upper floors of Budhwarpeth market complex will also be commercialized on PPP basis. Resolutions for other development works were also taken at this time. Important works will be undertaken by the Government Infrastructure Development Corporation.
A resolution for the Renovation of Muktidham Crematorium with providing essential facilities was also passed on this occasion.
The crematorium, built in the year 2002 now in a dilapidated state.
