PONDA: Ponda police arrested two Bangladeshi natives from Andra Pradesh in connection with the theft of two ATMs theft of HDFC and Canara Bank from Tisk Usgao on 18 August last month.
The accused managed to break open the ATM of HDFC Bank and steal 13 lakh cash from it while they failed to open Canara Bank.
The accused had purchased gold at Hubli from stolen cash. Police had recovered gold worth Rs 5 lakhs. Four accused were absconding in the case, said Ponda DYSP C L Patil and Vijaykumar Chodankar.
