HOLLANT: Employees and staff of Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) joined hands for a major cleanliness drive at Hollant Beach on Saturday, cleaning the popular tourist destination and surrounding areas.
The drive was led by PPL Chief Manufacturing Officer Suresh Pramanik along with company staff, who collected litter and cleaned the entire beach stretch as well as nearby public spaces. Hollant Beach, regarded as one of South Goa’s most scenic coastal spots and a favourite picnic destination, witnesses a large influx of visitors throughout the year.
Speaking on the occasion, company representatives appealed to visitors to help maintain the beach’s cleanliness by avoiding littering and carrying back their garbage after picnics and outings. They stressed that public participation is essential to preserve the natural beauty of the area.
PPL also assured that it would take further measures to improve cleanliness at the beach, including the installation of dustbins and other facilities aimed at preventing littering and ensuring proper waste disposal.
Velsao Deputy Sarpanch Kishan Sankolkar was present during the cleanliness drive and appreciated the initiative undertaken by the company and its employees towards protecting the coastal environment.
The drive formed part of PPL’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible civic behaviour among residents and visitors.
