Panaji: In a significant development in the Home Guard Dinesh Gaude death case, Associate Professor in Forensic Medicine at Goa Medical College (GMC) and in-charge of South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Dr Madhu S G Ghodkirekar, has sought a formal inquiry into the alleged leakage of a confidential autopsy report on social media.
Dr Ghodkirekar has submitted a complaint to the South Goa District Collector, expressing concern over the circulation of sensitive forensic findings in the public domain. The report, which is classified as confidential, is believed to have been widely shared online, raising questions over breach of protocol and data security.
In his complaint, Dr Ghodkirekar highlighted that government guidelines mandate strict sensitivity in handling cases involving children, women, persons with disabilities, and individuals belonging to SC and ST communities, as well as other vulnerable groups.
He stressed that unauthorised disclosure of such sensitive documents not only violates established norms but also compromises the dignity and privacy of those involved in medico-legal cases.
Authorities are expected to examine how the report was leaked and identify those responsible for the breach. Further action will be initiated based on the findings of the inquiry.
