PANAJI: PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral today said that his department will try and introduce a new machine which can fill potholes even during the monsoon season.
Cabral is also assured of making Goa 100% pothole-free by the next monsoon season.
“We are trying to introduce a new machine which can fill potholes even during monsoon season; I will assure you by next monsoon 100% there won’t be any potholes,” said Cabral.
We have started work to fill up the potholes. It is not possible to make roads pothole-free before monsoon, but we will try to reduce it substantially,” Cabral said.
The Minister said that the department will ensure that roads are maintained to see that they are commuter-friendly.
Cabral said that the Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, has issued directions to the department to ensure that the roads are maintained in good condition throughout, focusing more on monsoon season.
Meanwhile, Cabral said that IIT Madras will prepare a report on why the potholes are increasing on the Atal Setu bridge.
