QUEPEM: Quepem police have traced and rescued a missing minor girl from Arsikeri in Hassan district of Karnataka following an inter-state search operation involving intelligence gathering, field enquiries and assistance from railway vendors.
According to police, a missing person report led to the registration of a kidnapping case and the launch of a search operation to trace the girl.
During the investigation, police personnel visited Hubballi and developed intelligence with the help of railway hawkers and vendors. The girl’s photograph was circulated among vendor groups operating along railway stations on the Hubballi–Mysuru route, helping investigators gather information about her whereabouts.
Acting on the inputs received, a police team, accompanied by a family member of the girl, reached Arsikeri and successfully traced her. She was safely brought back to Goa after the necessary legal and procedural formalities.
The operation involved police constables Sahil Shetkar (PC-9435), Sidhu Raul (PC-8883), Arbaz Khan (PC-9077) and Prajwal Naik (PC-9215).
The case is being investigated by LPSI Deepa Daykar under the guidance of Quepem police inspector Prashal Desai and the overall supervision of Quepem SDPO Nilesh Rane and South Goa SP Akshat Aayush.
Goa Police reiterated their commitment to protecting children and ensuring prompt action in missing-person cases.
