MARGAO: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has expressed confidence that the BJP will secure another term in Goa in the 2027 Assembly elections, asserting that the party’s government under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant remains united and focused on taking the State forward.
Rane made the remarks on Friday while attending the inauguration of MRI and echocardiography facilities at the South Goa District Hospital. Addressing speculation about differences within the ruling party, he maintained that its leadership was working towards common goals under Sawant’s guidance.
The minister credited the Chief Minister’s leadership for the development undertaken in Goa and said the government’s priority was the welfare of the State and its people.
Turning his attention to the Congress’s Goy Rakhonn Yatra, Rane questioned whether marches through the streets could, by themselves, safeguard Goa’s interests. He argued that the State needed a defined development agenda and tangible results rather than street-level campaigns alone.
Rane said the BJP government had pursued development under Sawant and expressed confidence that voters would give the party another opportunity to govern in 2027.
He also responded to reports that the Goy Rakhonn Yatra had passed through his constituency, suggesting that those participating in the campaign would have seen the development work carried out there.
The remarks come as political parties prepare for the next Assembly elections, with Goa’s development, identity and environmental concerns featuring in the political discourse. Rane’s statement sought to project unity within the BJP while reinforcing the government’s development record as a key part of its electoral message.
