BICHOLIM: A morning commute turned hazardous at Amona Junction after a two-wheeler collision left one man injured and prompted police to register a case of rash and negligent riding.
The incident occurred on April 24 at around 9:30 am when a motorcycle, allegedly driven at speed and without due caution, rammed into a scooter from behind on the Sankhalim–Marcel stretch in Bicholim.
Police have identified the accused as Prathamesh Majik (24), a resident of Parye in Sattari, who was riding a Royal Enfield Bullet. The impact knocked down the scooter rider, Ulhas Sinari of Mestwada, Amona, causing injuries to his right leg.
The case was registered on April 26 following an inquiry into the motor vehicle accident, based on a complaint filed by Head Constable Ladu Gawas of Bicholim Police Station. Officials stated that the accused failed to maintain safe distance and proper control, leading to the rear-end collision.
Sinari received medical attention for his injuries, while police are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
