PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that his government would soon begin e-policing so that citizens could submit their complaints online.
“The state government is contemplating to begin e-policing so that citizens can submit their complaints online; the government will introduce reforms in the old police laws that will be shortlisted,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that the draft would be sent to the Advocate General for a legal opinion before implementation.
Maximum crimes are committed by those who come (to Goa) from outside. Such crimes can be reduced with popular support,” Sawant told reporters after the meeting.
“We have verified more than 30,000 tenants. I urge the public, even if you want to employ a servant at home, to obtain a police verification document from the first. Tenants should also be verified,” he said.
He said that the Police reforms and reforms in various laws, such as Tenant Verification Act and Old Police Laws, would be brought in for better policing in the state.
“I appeal to people of Goa to avail themselves the services & contribute for betterment in community policing in the state. I appeal to people to get tenant & servant verification done to assist police department for better policing in the state,” he added.
To crack down on drunken driving, CM assured to provide additional alcometers to the police.
