CANACONA – Stating the various road repairs and hot-mixing roads in Canacona is solely due to the ‘Chatai Andolan ‘ and different representations submitted to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Goa’s multiple authorities, Goa Forward Party leader Vikas Bhagat criticized Canacona councilors for stealing the credit.
Addressing a press conference at Chaudi, Goa Forward Party leader Vikas Bhagat stated that these days a few Hot-mixing works had been commenced in Canacona, particularly Gulem – Balli NH-66, Internal Roads in Loliem-Polem village, Poinguinim village, Palolem beach road, Partagal road mainly inaugurated by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar.
‘Finding government is not doing enough, Congress and Goa Forward in Canacona have launched a sustainable protest to repair the badly delipidated roads of Canacona, including the NH-66 road from Gulem to Balli. We had even given representation to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Different Government authorities, Canacona MLA, and Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, and most importantly held a ‘Chatai Andolan’ with Beddings and all in the office of PWD Principal Chief Engineer (Highway). Solely because of these Andolan’ and particularly all these representations, the present-day road repair and Hot-mixing works are taking place in Canacona’. Said Bhagat in the presence of Canacona Congress Block President Prahlay Bhagat and Goa Forward leader Umesh Tubki.
Speaking further, Bhagat said, ‘we are not doing or keeping anything in the dark. We call a spade a spade; whatever is good is good, and openly give the credit to the one who deserves it by complimenting the concerned. But how to give credit to the one who has not done anything is a matter of concern’, Bhagat asked, pointing fingers to the Canacona Councillors.
‘Instead of sharing we have just woken up for the slumber, Canacona Municipal Councillors may show to the notice of public as to what development they have done in the last one year,’ charged Bhagat.
‘let government introduce some industries in Canacona, so that youths get employment, complete the longest pending Ravindra Bhavan and open it for the public at the earliest, and resolve/solve the horde of day-to-day problems being faced by the citizens’, pleaded Congress leader Prahlay.
