MAPUSA: Mandrem Police have arrested a 42-year-old Russian national for allegedly staying illegally in Goa without valid travel documents, police said.
According to police, the offence was registered on April 30, 2026, at around 9.26 pm based on a complaint filed by PSI Laximan S. Dessai of Mandrem Police Station.
The accused, identified as Alexander Zhdanov, was reportedly found near Lavish Restaurant at Arambol in Pernem on April 30 at around 6.30 pm without valid passport and visa documents.
Police stated that the accused had allegedly contravened provisions under Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
The foreign national was placed under arrest at Mandrem Police Station at around 9.40 pm on the same day.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Kunal S. Naik of Goa Police.
