MANDREM: The Mandrem Police Station has registered an offence against a 42-year-old Russian national for allegedly residing in India without valid travel documents.
According to police, the accused, identified as Evgenii Kalashnikov, was intercepted on May 4 at around 4:00 pm near Arambol Beach parking during routine patrolling. Upon verification, he was found staying in Goa without a valid visa, thereby violating provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
Based on a complaint filed by Police Sub-Inspector Paresh Kale, an FIR was registered under Section 23(a) of the Act. The accused was later arrested at around 8:46 pm at the police station after due procedures were followed.
Police informed that all Supreme Court guidelines were adhered to during the arrest. The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has been requested to notify the concerned embassy to facilitate communication with the accused’s family.
