DHARBANDORA: Ponda Police have arrested Premanand Shankar Gaude, a 54-year-old peon at Gomantak Vidyalay High School in Pillem, Dharbandora, for allegedly abusing a juvenile student and his pals after receiving a complaint from a parent in Tisk-Usgao.
The police claim that the accused injured the complainant’s minor kid (name withheld) by hurling stones at his legs and striking him in the face with a slipper. In addition, the accused allegedly threatened the boy’s companions with serious injury by throwing stones at them and damaging the boy’s bicycle.
The incident happened between 1 and 1.30 pm when eight kids went to play football in the playground between two schools in Dharbandora, according to a complaint made by the parents of the young children.
Premanand Gaude, the Tamsodo-Dharbandora school peon who was there at the time, abruptly hurried to the playground and accosted the kids.
He allegedly started threatening them and throwing stones at them. The four youngsters who stayed on the ground and Gaude allegedly attacked them, hitting some of them with slippers, while the other four fled. Two of the children’s bicycles were also damaged by him.
Later, the kids who were able to escape the ground told their parents about it. After racing to the scene, a few parents turned Gaude over to the police. All four of the youngsters were released home after receiving treatment at the hospital.
Gaude was arrested in accordance with Sections 115(2), 125, 125(a), 324(4), 351(3) of BNS 2023, and Sec. 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act after a formal complaint was submitted to the Ponda police station. A police inquiry is underway.
