PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured beneficiaries that enrolment under the Goa Ujjwala Yojana will not affect the benefits they are already receiving under other government welfare schemes.
Sawant appealed to people not to be misled by what he described as false narratives being spread by the Opposition, stating that eligible families will continue to receive the support to which they are entitled.
He clarified that beneficiaries of the Goa Ujjwala Yojana can continue availing themselves of existing government assistance without any interruption.
The assurance comes amid concerns and confusion among beneficiaries over whether receiving LPG assistance under the new scheme could impact their eligibility for other welfare benefits.
The government has maintained that eligible households can avail the LPG support while continuing to receive benefits under other applicable schemes.
