PANAJI: An incident of vehicle theft has been reported from a public parking area near the Canara Bank ATM in Panaji, where an unknown person allegedly stole a two-wheeler scooter in broad daylight.
According to a complaint filed by Veena Prabhugaonkar, resident of Dona Alice, Block B, Nairlem, Morod, Caranzalem, her TVS Jupiter scooter (Galactic Copper colour), bearing registration number GA-07-AM-8158 and valued at approximately ₹1.15 lakh, was parked in an open public parking space on 30 May 2026 at around 10:30 hrs.
The complainant stated that unknown accused person(s) dishonestly took possession of the scooter without her knowledge and fled from the spot.
The complaint was formally registered on 01 June 2026 at 17:34 hrs at Panaji Police Station. Further investigation into the theft case is currently in progress under HC 5717 Babu Madanwar of Panaji Police Station.
Police are examining possible leads and CCTV footage from the area to trace the accused and recover the stolen vehicle.
