PANAJI: Shaheen C.K. and Sufiya Shaikh moved a step closer to securing triple crowns after producing commanding performances in the semifinals of the All Goa State Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026 at the Indoor Hall, Peddem, Mapusa.
With the first ranking event of the 2026-27 season reaching its climax, several players kept their hopes alive of winning multiple titles. Advait Balakrishnan and Amaira Dhumatker remained firmly in contention for double crowns, while Aswin Mannambalath, Aarohi Coutoncar, Michael Ryan Mare, Pratik P. Naik Borkar, Komal Kothari and Shivanjali Thite also booked places in two finals each.
In the Under-13 boys’ singles semifinals, Michael Ryan Mare cruised past Vedh Lotliker 15-3, 15-2, while Pratik P. Naik Borkar fought back to defeat Shourya Sinari 10-15, 15-12, 15-9, setting up an exciting title clash. In the girls’ singles category, Amaira Dhumatker and Komal Kothari advanced to the final after overcoming Kanika Pai Vernekar and Anvitha Poojari respectively.
The Under-13 doubles events also saw the finalists confirmed. Michael Mare and Ayansh Sanke progressed to the boys’ doubles final, where they will take on Pratik Naik Borkar and Varun Sahakari. In the girls’ doubles final, Amaira and Komal will face the pair of Anvitha Poojari and Ashbah Tahasildar.
The Under-19 category witnessed equally impressive performances. Shaheen defeated Devansh Sakpal 17-15, 15-13 to reach the boys’ singles final, where he will meet Advait Balakrishnan, who registered a convincing 15-6, 15-8 victory over Owais Tahasildar.
Shaheen also advanced to the boys’ doubles final alongside Aswin Mannambalath and the mixed doubles final with Sufiya Shaikh. Sufiya secured her place in the girls’ singles final against Shivanjali Thite and also qualified for the girls’ doubles final partnering Shivanjali. Advait reached the boys’ doubles final with Vansh Khedkar, while Aarohi Coutoncar entered both the girls’ doubles and mixed doubles finals, setting the stage for a thrilling finals day with multiple titles up for grabs.
