Vasco: Sporting Clube de Goa got back to winning ways with a dominant 4-0 win against Panjim Footballers in the Goa Professional League at Tilak Maidan, here, on Thursday.
Biswa Darjee (12′) gave Sporting the lead while Akeraj Martins (25′) doubled the lead for The Flaming Oranje.
Sushil Meitei scored the third just a minute into the second half and then substitute Vidipt Dua (50′) got his name on the scoresheet.
In no time Sporting established their dominance and enjoyed superior ball possession against the young Panjim side.
Akeraj Martins sounded the alarm early but his promising lob over the rival custodian missed the target narrowly.
However, Sporting had to wait only 12 minutes for the opener when Biswa’s attempted cross from the left deceived Panjim goalkeeper Vipin Sharma and crashed into the nylons.
From there on, there was no looking back for Sporting and they doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Akeraj headed in a cross from Ivon Costa.
Sporting could have scored their third before the break but Francisco Fernandes’ header hit the horizontal bar.
Sushil makes it 3-0 with an easy tap in after meeting a cross from Francisco.
Substitute Adil Khan sent in a perfect through ball for Vidipt Dua in the 50th minute and the striker rounded off the keeper to score in the empty net.
