PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has said that the state government’s idea is to merge schools to provide better education.
“I am making it clear that the Government is not shutting down any school. The idea is to merge schools to provide better education,” he said.
The Chief Minister said everything is just in the planning stage as the consultation process is going on.
“The Government is capable of running all schools. Many primary schools have four or five students or just one teacher. The quality of education becomes a problem,” Sawant had said.
“With the merger, we can provide more students and more teachers under one roof along with providing better facilities,” said CM.
On NEP, Sawant said that he has urged all the teachers to start working on the implementation of a new education policy in the State.
Speaking at a review meeting to discuss a two-hour virtual interaction programme which is scheduled on September 17, 2022, with teachers, Parents, PTA members, Sarpanch and Panch members.
Sawant informed that the implementation of the National Education Policy, merging the schools, Mulyavardhan Shikshan Concept and mid-day Milk Programme etc, will be discussed through this programme.
