PORVORIM: A 39-year-old sub-contractor from Mumbai, who was associated with the ongoing repair works at Kala Academy, was found dead in a hotel room in Porvorim on Tuesday night.
The deceased, identified as Bunty Bharat Prasad, was staying at a hotel in Porvorim while working on the project. His body was found in the bathroom of his room at around 9.30 pm. Police said both the room and bathroom doors were open when the incident came to light.
After receiving information, a team from Porvorim Police visited the hotel, secured the scene and carried out the required inquest proceedings before shifting the body to Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
The post-mortem examination has been kept pending until the arrival of Prasad’s family members, who are expected to reach Goa on Thursday.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and have begun an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident. The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem examination and further inquiry.
