PANAJI: The curtain raiser programme for the 4th edition of the Bulbul Children’s International Film Festival (BCIFF), organised by the Department of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa, received an overwhelming response from school teachers, parents and members of the public at the Conference Hall of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
The programme was attended by Minister for Public Works Department Digambar Kamat, prominent film producer and actor Damodar (Damu) G. Naik, and Director of Information and Publicity Abhir Hede.
Kamat’s continued support for the festival reflects a commitment to creating opportunities for children to dream, discover and grow, irrespective of their backgrounds. Along with the support of Damu Naik, this initiative aims to bring Goan families and communities together through a celebration of children’s happiness, imagination and aspirations.
Addressing the gathering, Hede gave a detailed overview of the activities and attractions planned for the five-day festival. He briefed teachers and parents on what children can look forward to at this year’s edition. The organising team distributed pamphlets outlining the complete festival schedule, while every attendee received an invitation to the opening ceremony.
The programme also featured an expert talk on “Positivity in Life” by Dr. Vithoba Narayan Mhalkar, Associate Professor at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour and a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach.
The enthusiastic participation of teachers and parents highlighted the growing interest in BCIFF as a platform that connects children, families and educators through cinema, creativity and learning.
