PONDA: Goa Police have registered a case at Ponda Police Station against ten persons and others for allegedly assaulting a woman and her family members at Bandora in Ponda.
According to police sources, Ponda P.S. Crime No. 48/2026 has been registered under Sections 115(2), 74, 189(2), 190, 352 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The complaint was lodged by a lady complainant whose identity has been withheld.
Police said that on May 1, 2026 at around 2.45 pm at Undir, Bandora, Ponda, the accused persons namely Deepesh Naik, Bhaskar Naik, Tulshidas Naik, Kashinath Naik, Dipasha Naik, Mandar Naik, Priyangi Naik, Sheetal Naik, Vimal Naik and Dilip Naik, all residents of Bandora, Ponda, along with others, allegedly formed an unlawful assembly and assaulted the complainant and her family members with kicks, slaps and fist blows.
The complainant further alleged that accused Tulshidas Naik and Kashinath Naik touched her chest, thereby outraging her modesty, and also criminally intimidated the complainant and her family members with dire consequences.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by PSI Krishna Gawas of Ponda Police Station.
Police said no arrests have been made in the case so far.
