OLD GOA: An alleged theft incident has been reported from a hostel accommodation in Old Goa, where a guest claimed that valuables including camera equipment, a mobile phone, wallet and cash were stolen, along with unauthorised credit card transactions.
According to a complaint filed by Mr. Tushar Verma, 26, a resident of Bengaluru and currently staying at The Hosteller Goa, the incident occurred prior to 09:00 hrs on 01 June 2026.
The complainant stated that unknown accused person(s) allegedly committed theft of two Nikon camera lenses, one Samsung Galaxy A14 mobile phone, a wallet containing various identity and bank documents, and cash from a locker, with the total loss estimated at around ₹80,000.
He further reported that two unauthorised transactions amounting to ₹25,000 were carried out using his credit card.
The complaint was registered on 01 June 2026 at 21:41 hrs, and the matter is currently under investigation with LPSI Jasvita Naik of Old Goa Police Station. Police are examining all possible leads to trace the accused and verify digital transaction trails linked to the case.
