CALANGUTE: A day after the troika of Joseph Sequeira, Agnelo Fernandes and Anthony Menezes, along with majority of Congress block, joined the Trinamool Congress, there is some more bad news for Michael Lobo as his close friend and Titos Club owner Ricardo Joseph D’Souza decides to contest the upcoming polls.
“I am contesting 100 per cent. Many people want me as no past MLA has looked at the taxi driver issue. Also, many buildings by outsiders have come up in Calangute but nothing for locals. Same with spas, dance bars,” he told Goemkarponn.
Ricardo says he promises to solve and finish Meter Raj in Goa as taxi drivers suffer.
“Also, I will ban all online apps. Further, I will give 1 free apartment to each family. Poorest first. Builders have to give to the people, not the MLA, Sarpanch, Panch, PDA etc,” he says.
He says the builder will be made to give this same money to the people.
“Same with tax from village business, this tax money will be used to pay for electricity, water bills of each and every household. I will use force to stop corruption, extortion, drug consumption, and dance bars as this destroys our society,” he says.
He further asks, “Don’t we need to make our businesses safe? Do our Goan businesses have to suffer? Are we not the sons and daughters of our soil?”
He says it is his duty being an MLA to care for local businesses and locals.
“I will stand by you. I also propose to start a free dispensary for our locals. I am for Calangute,” he says.
