PONDA: Travelling along the Adpoi-Rasoi ferry has become risky as for the past two days, the Adpoi Ferry ramp has been going underwater due to the rise in the water level of Zuari at the time of high tide
Locals at Adpoi said the rise in water level may be due to heavy rain and the release of dam water and the Salaulim dam. Locals said this is the shortcut ferry route towards Vasco via Rasoi, and many people travel towards Ponda and Vasco side through this ferry service. Considering every year flooding of the ferry ramp, the locals at Adpoi demand to heighten the ramp and road level so that people will not be incovenience during high tide in the rainy season when the Zuari river flows at a dangerous level.
There is another Durbhat Rasoi ferry route in the same Village. The Durbhat ferry ramp is also submerged under water.
