PERNEM: Mandrem Police have registered separate offences against two Russian nationals for allegedly staying illegally in India without valid travel documents and visas during a patrol operation in Arambol.
According to police, the first offence was registered on April 29, 2026, at around 6:30 pm based on a complaint filed by Police Sub-Inspector Laximan S. Dessai attached to Mandrem Police Station.
The accused, identified as Valeriia Osipova, 36, presently residing at Abha Guest House in Mandrem, was traced near Abha Guest House at Bhatwadi, Arambol during patrolling duty at around 5:45 pm. During interrogation, police found that she was allegedly staying illegally in Goa without valid travel documents or visa, thereby violating Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
In another case registered at around 7:01 pm, Mandrem Police booked Ruslan Tsuriev, 36, a Russian national residing at Abha Guest House, Bhatwadi, Arambol, Pernem, for allegedly overstaying in India without valid visa documents.
Police said the accused was found near Abha Guest House at around 6 pm and during verification was unable to produce valid travel documents. Police have initiated further investigation to ascertain his activities and motive during the overstay period after informing him of the grounds of arrest.
Further investigations in the two cases are being carried out by HC 4820 Satish Shetye and PSI Pratik Garudi of Mandrem Police Station.
